Like the RYPS Anastomt (qv) this is a development of the device described in the 2016 paper by Jin et al. (see the reference, below. It comes in a range of sizes from 10mm to 34mm diameter and so caters for infant, childhood and adult circumcision. The mode of operation, illustrated below, is identical. The inner cup is placed over the glans, the outer device is very carefully positioned over the foreskin, and the screw handle is tightened. Then the red safety pin is removed, and bringing the two handles together both cuts the foreskin and staples the cut edges together.
The makers have pointed out the following differences from the RYPS device. The ZSR is made of metal (the RYPS comes in both metal and plastic versions), the concave seat is one piece with the stem and so cannot come adrift, and the staples are thinner and positioned so that they come out more easily during healing.
