A rare Central European experience

My name is Tomas, I am 27 years old from central Europe. As it is not common to be circumcised here, I had not encountered it in person or thought about it for 20 years of my life. I had a pretty normal foreskin that I was able to pull down without any issues. Just the frenulum was a bit short but it did not bother me much during teenage years. This changed when I was 18 - I noticed that the short frenulum always pulled my glans down when I had sex or masturbated. As a reaction to that, I had a frenuluctomy (frenulum was cut to make it longer) and few weeks after the procedure, I became very happy that the foreskin was not bonded too much to the glans anymore and that it could have free movement.

However, I was not satisfied with this for long. After few months, it became obvious that my long foreskin (not being attached to anything) started to move on its own in everyday situation - for example when I was walking, swimming or doing other sports. Sometimes it would be enough to sit a bit differently on an office chair and the skin kept moving, which made these moments very unpleasant. As I was not satisfied with this, I started to wear the foreskin permanently retracted, which was way better. After some time, it kept holding under the glans and I got accustomed to the feeling of a bare glans. In the beginning, it was unpleasant, but after the first few days it started to settle. At first I held it back by using tape, later it was not needed to use tape anymore. I was wearing it like this for approximately 8 years. Most of the time, it stayed where it should, but occasinally it still moved on the glans when I did not want it. But it was somehow bearable and I had no issues when it came to sex.

Over those years, the idea came to fix the foreskin issue permanently. I did some research and it came out that the only way to solve this is circumcision. In the beginnig, I did not like the idea of having my foreskin cut off because of a seemigly minor issue. But as I did some search for answers, the idea stayed in the back of my head and it popped up more and more. I also looked for some photos of circumcisions and videos in porn to know how it looks and works. I was shocked that there were many circumcisions with good aesthetic outcome, every looked a bit different. So I have looked for it on-line, checking what circumcision style is and what possibilities can be obtained.

At that time, I thought that I would never do it, but I was quite curious on that topic. Several years passed and I noticed that I was not using my foreskin at all - for sex, it stays retracted. For masturbation - I did use just a small movement and never covered my glans. I looked for circumcision more thru the years and eventually, after discussiong it with some circumcised people on-line, I asked for an appointment in one of the clinics that offers circumcision. Just to note, in central Europe maybe 1 out of 1000 men are circumcised so I also had to be sure that I am fine with looking different in public showers, sauna etc. This took me some time too.

The first appointment in the clinic was just a consultation where we agreed on date of the surgery, circumcision style and other surrounding topics. On the day of the surgery, I went there very nervous - I have asked someone to cut off an otherwise working foreskin off my penis, which is not normal in the country where I live. In state of brief shock, I signed all the paperwork, got undressed and then local anaesthesia and the actual surgery took place within an hour. I did not see the surgery, but before applying the bandage, the doctor showed me the result, which looked fine, it was high and tight circumcision.

I stayed at home for a few days using ice on the wound to prevent swelling. Those days went on and on incredibly slowly as there was not much to do, just stay home and not move too much. But I had very minor swelling. Night time erections did hurt for 11 days, after that I went back to normal sleep. In the first days, I went to the clinic for check-up, I had the stitches removed after 2 weeks. Healing was quite fine, I had no issues there. After a month, I tried to have sex again. First few attempts were quite quick, but then it settled and I think now it takes same time as before. Also, the foreskin is not in a way anymore - before, it moved during sex and it was more like gliding in my own skin. Now I have more direct feeling of intercourse without it. Also it became clear that maintaining high level of hygiene is much more simple because the whole penis is now permanently exposed to air. Now I am fully accustomed to having a bare glans and no extra skin on the penis, which I started to like quite soon. I am wery satisfied with my circumcision and its benefits. Having known this 8 years ago, I would have went for full circumcision instead for the frenuloplasty only.
